Ramir Mosqueda has twenty plus years of martial arts experience. Within that time, he has accomplished a 5th degree black belt with USA Martial Arts, won four World Titles an Overall World Grand Champion Title, promoted a national tournament and runs the Buhisan’s USA Martial Arts organization alongside Jim Buhisan and Jim List.
During Ramir’s competitive career he was sponsored by Full Contact Sports Wear, San Jose Wireless Electronics and Buhisan’s USA Martial Arts. It was a common sight to see Ramir in magazines such as Black Belt, Sport Karate International and Karate/Kung Fu Illustrated. If you did not see Ramir in magazines, martial
arts enthusiast would find him in tournament video features and The Secret of Champions CD Rom.
In 1996 a decision was made to retire from competition. The 1996 Supergrands World Games in Washington DC would be Ramir’s last tournament appearance. The following year he was offered to promote a national tournament with the National Black Belt League (NBL). The very same organization Ramir won his titles.
During the years of 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 Ramir and partner Jim Buhisan ran the Great American Nationals. This even was the only National Tournament in California sanctioned by the NBL at the time.
Since then Ramir has made a commitment to Buhisan’s USA Martial Arts. He runs day to day operations and is the Master Instructor of the organization. According to Ramir this has been his most favorite role thus far in his martial arts career. “Nothing beats the feeling of seeing a student smile because of what martial arts has provided for him. That is the true essence of martial arts. That feeling that you cannot explain, but you now it’s something amazing.”
