James "Jim" List has been training in the martial arts for over twenty years. In the course of his martial arts career he has earned a 5th Degree Black Belt with Buhisan’s USA Martial Arts, a 1st Degree Black Belt in Kenpo from IKCA, and is currently studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Claudio Franca Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Alongside partners Jim Buhisan and Ramir Mosqueda, he runs Buhisan’s USA Martial Arts.

In addition to Tae Kwon Do and Kenpo, BKJN Jim has experience in the arts of Escrima, Aikijujutsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, and Aikido.

He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Industrial Technology from San Jose State University, with a minor in Business. He also earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in History from West Valley College.

During the day, Jim is employed by Lockheed Martin as a Field Engineer specializing in Energy Efficiency Consulting for commercial customers as part of Silicon Valley Power's Public Benefits Program.

When evenings roll around, BKJN Jim can be found teaching classes and helping to run day-to-day studio operations. He is one the Master Instructors of the organization, with Master Buhisan and BKJN Ramir. BKJN Jim is also instrumental in a number of behind-the-scenes organizational operations.

Of all the things he does, BKJN Jim enjoys teaching classes the most. According to him, helping students realize their full potential as both martial artists and as people is, as the commercial says, “priceless.”
